The Program Coordinator (Education and Outreach) will report directly to the Artistic Director and will be responsible for organizing and supporting Inter Arts Matrix’s Public Outreach Initiatives in the summer of 2025.
The Program Coordinator will organize two educational art activities for the public to participate in at the KW Multicultural Festival (June 2025) and the City of Waterloo’s Community Picnic (July 1, 2025) respectively. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for advertising the activity and Inter Arts Matrix’s attendance at these events on social media. They will prepare any preliminary materials in advance of the events and coordinate with any potential collaborators to ensure smooth delivery of the activities. They will be responsible for tracking the attendance numbers at the events, documenting the activities and writing two summary reports at the end of the events for the Artistic Director. The Artistic Director will offer regular guidance to the Program Coordinator during the planning phases and will ensure sufficient volunteer support during the festivals.
The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting the delivery of Inter Arts Matrix’s mini summer festival in early August 2025. They will support the Artistic Director with completing any administrative tasks, such as coordinating with the participating artists and confirming space booking, in advance of the festival. They will be expected to attend the entire mini summer festival and support the Artistic Director and volunteers with set-up, take down, and other technical aspects that arise during the five-day festival. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for delivery posters and flyers in advance of the festival and taking them down once the festival has taken place. They will work with the Artistic Director to support the social media advertising strategy leading up to the festival.
The Program Coordinator (Education and Outreach) will be available to support additional organizational programming that arises, however their focus area will be on the summer 2025 initiatives.
