Artist Town Hall #3

We are currently in the exploration phase of launching an Artist Incubator Program designed to support artists in Waterloo Region. As part of our community consultation process, we need input from artists living and working in Waterloo Region (you!).

Following up on the success of and conversations started at our last town hall, we are having three more of these sessions this summer. This is our third of four “Town Halls”.

Join us for our third town hall discussion, August 7, or again on August 28, from 5:30 - 7 PM at Studio #38, (Globe Studios: 141 Whitney Place, Kitchener). This will be a casual, drop-in style conversation with a Hot’n’Humble spaghetti dinner, brought to you by the fine people at Screaming Fox. You're welcome to stay for the whole session or just drop in briefly if you’re able.

The incubator we’re imagining would offer a cohort-based model, providing artists with access to mentorship, professional development, exhibition space, and creative community. Your insights would be invaluable in helping us ensure this model is both responsive to your needs and a sustainable support for a flourishing interdisciplinary arts community here in Waterloo Region.

We’re particularly interested in:
• What kinds of support(s) you are looking for;
• Strategies to make the incubator accessible, interdisciplinary, and community-rooted;
• How IAM’s space and programming could complement your existing practice and community
• The viability of a membership system

We look forward to learning from your perspective as we shape this new initiative!!
