Delivering a compelling elevator pitch

Have you ever fumbled or tripped over your words when someone asks you to describe your work? It isn’t fun. But being able to pitch your work on the spot to different audiences is a valuable skill that you can develop as an artist. On Thursday, February 6th, you will have an opportunity to develop two elevator pitches (specialized and non-specialized) of your practice and present them to an audience.

Sheila McMath will facilitate both individual and group written and oral exercises to help you develop an elevator pitch and practice sharing it aloud with those gathered. Come ready with images or a small sample of your work, a notebook and pen, and an eagerness to engage deeper with your own and others’ practices.

This session is a part of a series of artist professional development evenings hosted by Inter Arts Matrix throughout 2025. Registration is not required. The event will take place at the Inter Arts Matrix studio space (Globe Studios, Studio 38 | 141 Whitney Place, Kitchener, ON N2G 2X8).
